Overview
About Me
Geek with a cat and a 1-bedroom apartment (with a couch) on the edge of Boulder, Colorado. When in Boulder, I love hiking the gorgeous trails along the flatirons of the Rocky Mountains. I hope to try some snow sports this winter; I've never skied before and I'd like to try cross country skiing or snowboarding.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
This September I had a surprise work trip come up out of the blue and was asked to work from Finland for more than a month. I'd only been out of the US once before this trip, on a trip to France and Barcelona about two years ago. It's the end of October and I want to travel for a week before I go back to work in Boulder. I plan to stay for a couple of days in Brussels and Amsterdam before a stopover in Reykjavik on my way home.
I've heard fantastic things about Couchsurfing and would love to meet you! Will you host me for a night or two? Maybe show me your favorite thing to do in your town?

Music, Movies, and Books
Sci-fi, now into graphic novels (most favorites are from Image Comics), anything with a cello, and contemporary orchestral music (think Hans Zimmerman).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's the little things that matter! Here are some that come to mind:
Got to meet owls, four kinds, IN PERSON! It was AWESOME.
Also: My first Colorado hike was on New Year's Day in the ice and snow! Saying *yes* to spending more than a month working abroad (though I do miss my cat). Hopping on my first truly solo international trip a few weekends ago to visit a friend in Southern Sweden, then spending a day hiking around Copenhagen in the sunshine. ...and this trip I'll be taking soon.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm passionate about health and wellness, and care greatly about increasing diversity in the technology field. I regularly help with events that teach women to program and support people in starting careers in tech.
