ABOUT ME

I am a very cheerful and extremely talkative individual. (if you couldn't already tell by how much of my profile I've filled out! ^_^) I'm also a bit of a goofball at times. ^_^ Though I'm sometimes shy around new things I open up quickly and enjoy interacting with people. I love to smile and I love to laugh. I enjoy telling stories about my experiences as well as hearing those of others. I'm fun loving and easy going ^_^
I play flute/piccolo, tenor sax, french horn and a number of other instruments.
I ride a Kawasaki Ninja 650R and love motorcycles in general.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Travel can get a bit confusing at times. When you arrive in a new place you don't always know where you should go, or what you should see. And while travel guides can be a useful aide, having a local to guide you around can make the trip far more enjoyable. I love to be a tour guide! ^_^ Though at times I may not be the best, I know where to find good food and can point you to interesting historical sites.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I really don't have any personal experience with surfer. I have though visited over at my brother's house when he has had couch surfers and heard his experiences. It sounds like tons of fun and a great way to travel ^_^

Though unofficially couch surfing, my trip to Ireland would not have been the same with out my friend arranging for us to stay with various friends of his. They opened their homes, showed us around, fed us and befriended us. Ireland truly felt like home during the 2 weeks we spent there. I would love to have more experiences like that! The fear one might have of being in a different country is lessened greatly by having a local to help them around. I felt more like a visitor rather than a tourist.

Interests

Crochet, photography, cake decorating, beading, rock climbing, skiing, hiking, road trips, Linguistics, learning a new language, traveling the world, learning about different cultures, new experiences, writing, music.
To get a taste of local flair but still see some of the more touristy places.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a good comedy, though I tend to prefer classics. Marx Brothers are a must in my collection. The Court Jester has been a favorite since childhood. Lilo and Stitch and The Emperor's New Groove always make me laugh. Ratatouille is my favorite Pixar film. I LOVE Anime! Cowboy BeeBop, Samurai Champloo, Fullmetal Alchemist, Ouran High School Host Club, Ghost in the Shell SAC..the list goes on and on and on!

My taste in music can only be described as "Eclectic". There's hardly anything I don't listen to. From System of a Down, Josh Groban, Alison Krauss, The Moody Blues, Tonic, Backstreet Boys, Lovin' Spoonful, Beatles, Creed, Toto, Jim Croce, Tamaki Nami, Linkin Park. I'll listen to just about anything ^_^ And I'm open to hearing new things as well.

I'm a bit of a picky reader but the books I read I LOVE! Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Twilight are my favorite series. Diana Wynne Jones is probably my favorite author. Her books always make me laugh..which draws stares from anyone around me ^_^

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In '93 my family took a trip to the southern tip of Baja California to see a total solar eclipse. Truly one of the most spectacular things I've ever eye witnessed ^_^
