Hi, my name is Sarah.

For a long time, I used to define myself by what I was doing. I’d say things like:
"I'm 33, I'm French, I've traveled a lot, I live currently in the Netherlands, and I love sports : running, hiking, kitesurfing, sailing, mountain biking, kickboxing… the list goes on, just name it."

But about a year ago, an injury and an unsuccessful surgery forced me to slow down sports. And soon, I’ll be leaving the Netherlands too.
I tried new things : guitar, cooking, knitting, in search of new hobbies, a new version of myself. But nothing really stuck.

That made me realize how often we define ourselves by what we do or enjoy. And not by who are are inside.
So instead, I’d like to tell you who I am.

I’m someone who lives in between opposites.
I love connecting with people, but I recharge best on my own.
I enjoy lively conversations just as much as quiet moments of silence.
I dream of sailing across the Atlantic with a crew, and also of spending a full month in silent meditation.
I find joy in movement, my inside life feels like a tornado, but also in standing still, just watching a landscape for hours, while almost forgetting to breathe.
I am naturally almost constantly smiling : it's the best heritage I've got from my mum .
I'm no longer trying to prove that I’m fun or smart or accomplished. This is such a relief.

What matters most to me now is connecting with others, modestly, honestly. I love when you don't try to prove anything, neither, as that is the only way you let me discovering you. You don't have to be brilliant, or extraordinary funny for being an interesting person. You can be pretty basic, as I am pretty basic, and that is all fine, I'll still like you.

I feel things deeply. It’s my strength, and sometimes, my challenge.
All put together, that can gives you a bit of a picture of who I am.
