Overview
About Me
I have grown up a few steps away from the nearest forest. Even after I moved to the capital of Finland, I have never lived far from one: I need regular time in the woods to stay rooted. 🌲
Many of my interests also revolve around the outdoors. I love learning about bird species, wild herbs (I know at least the ones that make good tea), and growing my own food (used to have an allotment at the campus). I dream about bike trips, climbing trips, hikes, canoeing trips, all of the sort. I hope to one day have badass survival skills and be able to pull off longer expeditions, but I never look down on any mini-adventure either.
My travel mindset is to get lost in any beautiful place and to just observe special things in life instead of rushing past them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love it when random connections with total strangers turn out to be something unexpectedly beautiful! My couchsurfing experiences were not just a shower and a couch, but the opposite: they became the whole essence of the trip. The people I have met abroad have taught me the most about the world and even myself. It is also so much better to see a city I visit through the eyes of somebody who lives there. These experiences have been so valuable to me and I hope to host in return when I am back in Helsinki.
Interests
I think it is essential to give everything the time it deserves, and I think this philosophy condenses in the art of sourdough baking 🥖 I make a badass baguette and my latest craze is painting the loaves with flowers 🌸
Libraries are my go-to-place for every mood. I can also easily spend hours reading by my morning coffee and chilling with a book in a park.
I am interested in zen philosophy and have been visiting a zendo for my practice.
