About Me

CURRENT MISSION

never settle down

ABOUT ME

I am not good at talking about myself but I guess I can start this by saying that I am a great listener... I am always interested at listening to people's stories, I can sit for hours with someone and talk about anything, and fortunately I've come across many many people, whether on a plane, at a bar, on a train... there was always someone with a great story to share. I graduated in journalism in 2013. I've chosen it as my profession because I want to get to know different places, hear what people from around the world have to say... and share with them things I've learned. As a good Brazilian, I love soccer, beach, summer, traveling, go to concerts... Yeah, I think Samba is amazing but I am not much into carnival. Maybe when I go to the northeast of Brasil I will get to see the real Carnaval, the local and popular celebration, because in Rio and Sao Paulo is a private show and it's very expensive. As a good paulistana -people that were born in Sao Paulo- I can be picky sometimes and always in a hurry. I was born and raised in a very big city so I love noisy, crowded and busy places though I always find myself trying to escape from it once in a while. I love reading, I love movies, photography and Rock n'Roll. I am vegetarian and I think animals are as amazing and brilliant as we are, if not more than we are. But no, I am not a demagogue and don't really care if you eat meat. I am not religious and I will never be. But I have always been spiritual, and will always be. I respect what you believe and think and I am happy if you want to share your thoughts and beliefs with me as long as you respect me as well. I love my friends, my family, and I am starting my Master's degree in Latin American Studies at Georgetown University this Fall 2015. I hope I get to do something that makes a big difference to my community or at least for few people cuz I know I can't change the world but that I surely can do.

PHILOSOPHY

"It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Through my friend who hosts couchsurfers in Baltimore and I get involved with the CS community because I realized how great it is to meet awesome people by couchsurfing around the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't officially couchsurfed yet. I stayed at my friend's place which is a host in Baltimore but since he is my friend I wasn't couchsurfing exactly. I met lots of couchsurfers at his place and participated as a host showing Baltimore around and taking surfers to a walk throughout the city, to the bars, the parks so we could lay out in the sun or play some silly games. To cook at home, to drive around and to talk for hours during the night. I have only had amazing experiences by hosting people and some of them I get to be in touch everyday even being miles and miles away.

Interests

I love writing and I want to improve my writing as much as I can in the 3 languages I speak. I want to learn more languages so I am at least able to be polite in russian, greek, japanese...
Rock n'Roll, blues and jazz, 3 things I can not live without. But I am open to get to know all kinds of music. Love some latin music as well.
I love people that has humility and respect to get to know and understand other's people points of views and way of living. Open-minded and caring people is the perfect combination, nothing bad could come from this combination. I am not the biggest adventurer I know but I am always up to it.
I am still young and there are so many things I still would like to do and I am not feeling like settling down. I love taking pictures and I want to be able to work one day with photojournalism, it is one of my dreams.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen and been to a lot of beautiful places and situations which always made me feel lucky to be at the right place at the right time, but one of the most prettiest things I've ever seen is the sunset in Irvington, NY. I see beauty when I see good-hearted people being nice to each other, when I see kids being kids. When I see my best friend feeding her baby. When I see old people being in love with their lives. there is beauty in so many little things. I think this world is very sick but I hope each person can make their lives a lil more beautiful every day by doing something good for themselves and for others. Beauty is simple.
