About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live long and prosper!

ABOUT ME

Hey! I'm a teacher who grew up on a houseboat in Portland, in a tent off the grid in Northern California, and in various West Coast cities. I love traveling around and meeting good people wherever I go, be it in cities or out in the country.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not sure. That's the basis of my philosophy . . . I might think that I 'know' certain things, but really at the end of the day, no one knows. This uncertainty, for me, is rather frightening but also very liberating; it means that I have just as much right as the next dude to follow my own intuition and feelings about how it is right to live my life.

I try to find a good mix of helping other people, learning new things, and having fun; all of those feel good in the long-run.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed my way across the U.S., traveling from Colorado (where I live) to NYC (where my summer job was). I'm just planning a trip back, starting next weekend. After I get back to Denver I'd love to host, though my place there is pretty small without any extra beds.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with someone in Miami, and it was awesome. I'd always take a couch over a motel room. I also look on this as a way to meet awesome new people here in Denver.

Interests

I do lots of capoeira. I also teach 1st grade, so I like working with kids. I dance, sing, swim, prance about in the rain . . . most fun things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Sci-fi and fantasy!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Everywhere I've traveled outside (and inside) of the US has been amazing . . . last summer, I spent a few weeks traveling around Brazil playing capoeira. The people were amazing, and I love how people dance in the streets. Also love the beaches and warm ocean.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach capoeira music. I can also do some basic hand drumming lessons, English lessons, beginning Arabic or Portuguese lessons, and a bit of yoga.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil

Countries I’ve Lived In

Egypt, United States
