Hello, my name is Sachi! I am currently one year away from finishing my undergrad; studying mathematics and studio art in Southern California. I grew up in Albuquerque, NM with a Swiss mother and Japanese father. All of my extended family lives outside of the United States, so I have had the privilege of traveling around a bit and being exposed to many languages (although I wouldn't say I am quite fluent in any of them..)!
I really like getting to know new people and going on adventures. I like to challenge myself and always try new things. I am always looking to grow and learn from the people I meet and places I go.
I work at a bakery and student-run, sustainably-sourced restaurant making delicious goodies and serving them to our community. I am the co-founder of three different groups and organizations on our campus: Advocates for Survivors of Sexual Assault, Mixed Identity Exchange, and Women's Roller Derby. It would take some time to explain each of these things, so I would be happy to explain in person if we do meet and you are interested! Most of my time is spent organizing and supporting these communities but I also love to run and eat delicious food in my free time. Right now I am in New York City working at a real estate agency and learning about the city. I will be in Barcelona soon to be with two of my best friends, Sonia and Sofia. Hope to meet you soon!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am going to be traveling and spending time with my two best friends from high school for a few days in Barcelona before I go to work at an international summer camp in Girona. We would love to find a place to stay where we can meet new people and have a local tell us what to see.

Interests

I love to do things outdoors. Backpacking and running and biking (although I am a terrible biker..). I love to go on adventures and walk around weird places. I love to see and create art. I love playing with children. I like to eat good food but I hate cooking it (I'm working on that). And I like to bake!
