About Me

I'm a fun loving and open minded guy who loves to learn, eat and drink. I'm quite outgoing and love to meet people yet would be described by many as someone who is quite and frequently listens rather than talks.

I come from an Indian family who were forced out of Uganda, and came to England. I have grown up here but have had the fortune to visit many places and learn a lot - from many different cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to learn as much about as many different people and places as I can. My challenge in 2016 was to go to a different place at least once a month.

Interests

I like lots of varying things. I love speciality coffee and will travel silly distances for a good espresso.

I like technology and what it can achieve. I like to read - though mostly through blogs and non fiction, rather than novels.

I used to perform close up magic semi-professionally at the age of sixteen and love to play poker (though after they realise I did magic most people won't play with me).

I like talking to people and figuring out what life experiences made them the way they are, so that I can better understand people

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies

I love anything that Tarantino has produced, a fan of Star Wars, Shawshank redemption and a lot of Scorcese films. I'm often ridiculed by friends for all the TV and Movies I haven't seen, feel free to message me and join in.

Books

4 Hour Body and 4 Hour work week both by Tim Ferriss. Vagabonding by Rolf Potts. Nicomachean Ethics by Aristotle.

I frequently start multiple books at a time and often don't make it all the way through - a fault of my attention span more than anything else.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took a month off from work to go to New Zealand and Australia alone in 2015. My plans in New Zealand changed extremely last minute and so I ended up driving from the Bay of Islands down to Queenstown in five days.

In 2016 I decided to try and visit a different place and if possible a difference country every month.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn about different cultures and especially their respective food. I can teach people how to make a good cup of coffee and some simple magic - though not too much I can't give away all my secrets.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Non - conventional pellets of information on everything from polyphasic sleep to counting cards.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Wales

Countries I’ve Lived In
