About Me

I love hiking and playing outside on a beautiful day, I used to live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and that made it possible every single day. I am currently a grad student studying Development Practice at UMN. Prior to this, I used to work as a Program Coordinator in a small community-based nonprofit called Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture and am really active in the local food system. I'm also very interested in astronomy, herbal medicine, cooking, fermenting, agriculture, and much more!

I love traveling and exploring and that is why I chose a career in International Development. I approach life as I do international development: learn from communities, give assistance that is asked not that you think is right, and explore each and every option. I worked in my home country of Nepal and in Belize with marginalized indigenous groups and have learned so much from these experiences.

I love to cook, hike, and explore and hope to find people who like to do the same!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and sharing stories. I was first on couchsurfing when I made my trip out to Colorado and New Mexico. I met the most fun-loving folks during that trip, it would not have been what it was without couchsurfing!

Right now my best friend and I are planning a last minute trip to Maui and we are looking for hosts who would be willing to put us up for a night or two. We are looking forward to learning as much as possible about the island and its culture, so we thought that finding some couchsurfers would help us achieve that!
