ABOUT ME

I am a kind, open-hearted and very open-minded woman. I am easy going and, for the most part, easy to please. I am fun to be around, as I am always up for an adventure, though I am equally happy relaxing and especially conversing over a cup of tea/chai/coffee/any kind of beverage really! I listen well and therefore learn much.

Interests

My primary passion in life is capoeira. I have been practicing this Brasilian art-form for a few years now, and every day I grow further as a capoeirista. In fact, capoeira encompasses pretty much everything I have a passion for - dance (I also love forró), music (almost any kind of live music really captivates me, but especially jazz, reggae, hip-hop), politics (I consider myself a lefty), movement/the body in general (health is really important to me) and community (that goes without saying. I love communal living).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was in Bahia, Brasil, and I went to see the whales just off the coast, and then jumped off the boat and swam with them underneath me. Being so close to such large and peaceful animals left me in awe! This happened years ago and I still always bring it up!

But more recently, and more importantly - being able to follow my dreams. Arriving in Boston, Massachusetts, earlier this year, knowing I was about to embark on a year that I had longed for and planned for so long - I'm so pleased that I have managed to follow it through. And I have grown immensely as a person - I am always in awe of how one grows when they are travelling, in ways you couldn't from the comfort of your home. That makes me happy and thankful to have the opportunity to travel :)
