ABOUT ME

i'm fairly simple. i love people. each of us has had different experiences in life, and experience is the best teacher of all. we all have something to offer to and something to learn from everyone we come in contact with. i am about to fly to the other side of the world in order to try and experience different cultures for myself, and learn from those who live elsewhere. life is about learning and growing and becoming the person you want to be. i hope traveling help me to do all three.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

i'm about to be traveling, hopefully couchsurfing all over europe. when i get back to the U.S., i will be going to law school either on the east or west coast ((i will be making this decision while overseas)) and fully plan on hosting as many people as i can while i'm there! the plan is to move back to texas after law school - and since "everything is bigger in texas", i will certainly have room to share. :)

none, yet. but one of my close friends couchsurfed europe and is my inspiration in taking this trip.

i went to Zambia and worked with AIDS orphans. these children had more joy and love for others than ANYONE i have ever met, yet they had nothing - not even family. the things i learned and the ways my life changed while i was there cannot be measured. but, i am certain that i was a different person on the plane ride home.

i was in a terrible accident two and a half years ago that should have taken my life. i was told i would never be able to walk again on my own two feet. the doctors had no hope for any sort of recovery. but i kept clinging to the hope that it was possible. at times it was dim and i wanted to let go, but something kept me holding on.

....i walk as normally as i did before the accident. nothing is impossible. two and a half years ago i never would have thought i could do something like move to europe and travel for months. and, i'm not sure i would be doing this if it weren't for that accident. i saw firsthand how fragile life is. i want to take advantage of every day i have here. there's too much of the world out there for me to stay here in the same place i've always been. and so the journey begins....
