There is no description of a fool that I fail to satisfy. That said, I do try to offset my incessant foolishness with honest curiosity and unshakable optimism, making me come off as reasonably likable most of the time.

A moderately wise person once said that "the only real difference between people is quality of attention." I believe that to be true and so do my best to know the world around me, as ugly or as beautiful as it may be. This brain and the senses that feed it are all I have. I hope to make the best of them.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted a couple of Danes passing through Ashland in May 2008, had a most excellent time. Surfed in southeast Alaska toward the end of summer 2009, and again had a most excellent time.

Just outside of Rocky Mountain National Park, I once saw a rabbit chasing down and beating up on a chipmunk. Definitely one of the stranger things I've ever witnessed.
