About Me

Hey there!

I’m Sahand but you can call me Sam believe me it’s much easier! A curious soul with a backpack and an open mind. I believe the best stories are found between the pages of a passport and in late-night conversations over local food.

When I’m not on the road, you’ll probably find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, on the fencing piste channeling my inner Zorro, or editing content from my past trips (because if you didn’t film it, did it even happen?).

I’m here to meet amazing humans, swap stories, and experience places through the eyes of the people who live there. Let’s share laughs, music, ideas—or just a good cup of coffee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m here to meet amazing people from all around the world—simple as that. I believe everyone has a story worth hearing, a perspective worth sharing, and something to teach.

Couchsurfing, for me, is about making real connections—exchanging cultures, laughing over random stories, learning from each other’s experiences, and building friendships that go beyond borders.

The world feels a little smaller (and a lot friendlier) when we open our doors and hearts to each other.

Interests

I’m passionate about creating—whether it’s photography, videography, or editing, I love turning moments into stories. I’m also a huge fan of history, ancient myths, and spending hours wandering through museums.

Traveling feeds my soul—there’s nothing like the feeling of exploring a new place for the first time. I grew up with video games and binge-worthy series (like most of us), but these days I’m more drawn to real-life experiences. Life’s too short not to truly live it.

I’ve got a big love for cooking and trying new cuisines, and dancing is one of my favorite ways to feel alive. I also enjoy working out to stay sharp—mentally and physically—and I practice fencing, which keeps things fun and challenging.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music, I don’t stick to genres—if it’s good, it’s going in the playlist. From indie gems to guilty-pleasure pop, I’m here for all of it.

My childhood was basically sponsored by Harry Potter, and now I’m on a mission to read every book you “must read before you die” (open to recs, by the way).

Movies? The less predictable, the better. I love the ones that mess with your head a little—and yes, I’m proudly part of the Christopher Nolan fan club.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Solo traveling south east asia for 2 months!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some cool phrases in Persian or Turkish, show you where the locals really eat (and what you have to try), and share tips on taking better travel photos. If you’re into dancing, I’ve got some moves to teach—and if not, we can still vibe to some good music, watch a movie, or play some video games together.

I’d love to show you around the city’s attractions, but more than that, I’m here to share stories—about where we’ve been, what we love, what we dream of, and how we’re getting there.

Let’s learn from each other and create some good memories along the way.
