One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It was a Friday night, and I was walking to my car to go hang out with friends where I saw a middle aged lady collapse on the other side of the street. I ran over there to make sure she's ok, but she's not responding at all. Sh*t suddenly got real! I checked her breathing... Nothing!! Pulse... nonexistent!!! Thankfully some other dude also showed up for help. With his help we turned Her on her back and I start compressions. After a few minutes which felt like hours, an ambulance arrives and they take over. Being a small city, I knew they'd take her to our hospital., at that point I needed a shot ASAP so I continued with my Friday night plans.
On Monday, when I went back to the hospital, I found out that she had an emergent bypass surgery and was recovering in post op. I don't think any word can demonstrate the feeling that I had when I found out that she was alive and was going to fully recover from all of that. Later that week she left the hospital with her two kids and husband.
