Hey! I’m Sahar. I was born and raised in Iran, but I currently live in Wales. I’m a mural artist, and I often travel for work—sometimes for projects, sometimes just to explore, meet new people, and learn about different cultures.

I love being outdoors, especially hiking and backpacking. Whenever I visit a new place, I try to experience it through its nature, people, and art. If I’m home, I usually organize hiking trips, so if you’re around, let’s go on an adventure!

Right now, I’m working on a project called Persian Tour, painting Persian-inspired murals in different places across Wales. But for me, it’s not just about art—it’s about connecting with people, sharing cultures, and exchanging stories.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people, experiencing new environments, and immersing myself in different cultures. Learning is a lifelong passion for me, and I believe Couchsurfing is an incredible way to connect beyond the usual tourist experiences.

The kind of people who inspire me are those who chase cultural exchange, find joy in learning, and believe in simple acts of kindness. Whether it’s opening their homes or sharing a meal, these small acts make the world feel like a community.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a deep love for traditional and folk music—it’s the heartbeat of every culture. Whenever I travel, I try to discover local instruments, their sounds, and how they shape movement and dance. Music and dance are deeply connected, and it’s fascinating to see how different cultures express themselves through rhythm.

I’m also a big fan of modern contemporary styles, especially when they blend traditional instruments with new sounds. Some of the instrumental fusions are just incredible—when done right, they create a connection between both the old and new generations.
