Overview
About Me
Hello, my name is Sahil Kumar Mehta, and I am currently pursuing my B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at VIT-AP University. As a curious and enthusiastic learner, I’ve always believed that real education goes beyond textbooks—and that’s where my love for traveling plays a major role in shaping who I am.
I genuinely enjoy exploring new places, meeting people from different backgrounds, and learning about their cultures, traditions, and ways of life. Every trip I’ve taken has taught me something valuable—be it local customs, history, or just a different perspective on life. I believe that travel is not just about seeing new places but about connecting with people and understanding the world through their eyes.
As a tech student, I’m naturally analytical, but I also value creativity, open-mindedness, and empathy—qualities that travel experiences constantly help me build. Whether it’s visiting a heritage site, trying local cuisine, or simply having a conversation with someone from a different background, I cherish every moment of the journey.
I see this trip as a great opportunity to explore new cultures, broaden my perspective, and create memories that will last a lifetime. It also aligns perfectly with my goal of becoming a well-rounded individual who not only excels in academics but also understands the world beyond the classroom. I’m excited about the chance to learn, share, and grow through this experience.

Interests
I have a deep interest in traveling, exploring new places, and learning about different cultures. I enjoy stepping out of my comfort zone, meeting new people, and understanding their traditions, lifestyles, and perspectives. Every journey gives me a chance to grow, reflect, and see the world through a broader lens. I’m also passionate about technology and problem-solving, which is why I chose to pursue Computer Science Engineering. Beyond academics, I like engaging in meaningful conversations, trying local cuisines, and visiting heritage sites. These interests help me stay curious, open-minded, and constantly motivated to learn and experience more.

Music, Movies, and Books
Way too many to properly list here.
My taste in music is quite indiscriminate and my knowledge of music is quite limited. I like what I like. I _LOVE_ Bollywood music. But I like many other genres as well - jazz, classical, rock, pop etc.
I LOVE movies both for their artistic content and their technical aspects. My all-time favourite movies are Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump and 2001: A Space Odyssey. But there are so many other movies I love... Last year I watched The Square and also Victoria both of which I loved.
Among Bollywood movies some movies that come to mind are The Lunchbox, Pushpak, Barfi and Andaz apna apna. But then again there are dozens of other fantastic movies that I cannot recall right now.
And talking of movie how can one ignore TV? Some of my favourite shows are Sense8, Black Mirror, Sherlock Holmes, Malgudi Days, Friends and House.
Books! I am a bibliophile. There is no hiding that fact. I _LOVE_ the physical act of reading. My all-time favourite book is Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I love good science-fiction especially hard sci-fi and provocative sci-fi. I have read a lot of Clarke and Asimov. A bit of Heinlein. Cixin Liu's Three-Body problem was a revelation. And Greg Egan also has been author I have read a lot of in the last 6 months.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing experience I’ve had was watching the sunrise from a quiet hilltop during a trip. As the sky slowly lit up with shades of orange and pink, the peaceful silence and beauty of nature left me in awe. It was a simple moment, but it made me feel deeply connected to the world around me. That experience reminded me how powerful nature can be and how important it is to pause and appreciate the present. It strengthened my love for travel and exploration, and it’s a memory I’ll always carry with me.
