About Me

On the road again

CURRENT MISSION

Finding a way of developing power of teleportation.
Solo travelling across South East and East Asia, hopefully all the way up to Japan!

ABOUT ME

After 1 year and half in NZ, I'm back on the road, just my backpack, R.R (my key ring black bear from Vancouver), myself and I.

My type of humor : dad jokes and crappy puns.
I love to learn some random useless fun facts (the kind that make people think I'm smarter than I am, while I can't remember what I've had for lunch).

I'm an introvert, but some people don't believe me. I think I've developed a dual personality, since I started traveling, and meeting more people.

I got bit once by a baby hedgehog and by a baby goat (unrelated events) but never developed superpowers related to that... Kinda disappointed.

PHILOSOPHY

"The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page" St Augustine of Hippo
"Not all those who wander are lost" JRR Tolkien
"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us" Gandalf
"To stay is to exist, but to travel, is to live" Gustave Nadaud
"Be the change you want to see in the world" Gandhi

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One more quote: "Those who travel without meeting the other do not travel, they move." Alexandra David Neel

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think meeting local people is wonderful and essential while travelling. It makes the difference between being a simple tourist and being a traveler.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had couchsurfing experiences from France, England, Wales, Ireland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Viet Nam, Taiwan, China, South Korea and Japan. All great! (Ok that guy with the puppets was a bit strange... but no biggie)
I wish to have many other experiences while travelling in Asia (if not involving puppets).
I'm also always happy to help fellow travelers (not necessarily always on CS) finding couches to crash on, sometimes my friend's, or mine when I occasionally have one :)

Interests

Hiking is one of my favorite thing on earth (even though I'm no racer). I like the feeling of introspection it gives me.

Animal lover (yes, I'm one of those "vegetarian people"). I've volunteered in farms, ranches, sled dog kennel, and wildlife rescue centers. One of my aspirations in life is to become a crazy cat lady.
When I lived in New Zealand, I worked in conservation and ecological restoration.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Really depends on "the mood" and vibes. I just don't want to say that I listen to "everything" because that's not true. At the moment mostly Jpop.

Movies:
Action, adventure, comedy...
The LOTR saga are my favorite movies. I also enjoy superhero movies (a bit less since Disney bought the MCU..). I also like anime (Naruto, FMA, AoT, Fruits basket, Assassination classroom...)

Books:
Mostly fiction. Fantasy, adventure, thriller, detective stories, suspense, comedy... I always have something to read. Now reading: The Dark Profit saga by J. Zachary Pike

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Impossible to chose only one, and I'm too indecisive for that anyway.
Life is pretty amazing itself!
Let's talk about it when we meet :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some French, of course :) Always cute and funny to hear people trying to speak French, heheh.
And how to make chocolate mousse.
I can also make pizza, if you have an oven.

I like sharing my culture with others and I mostly love learning from other cultures.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not the best cook, but I can try to make something. We can cook together, share good conversations, go on an small adventure... Really depends on the person.

Personnaly I can't host at the moment, but when I will, good conversations, some food, maybe watch a movie together.
I'd like to show people around wherever I'll be living, like the cool library (where only the real cool kids hang out), some funny-looking trees, that cute cafe down the road with some hottie waiters, or where not to go to avoid getting food-poisoning.
I've been helped so much during my trips and I can't wait to return the favor.
Guests will have to bring their own toothbrush, tho.
