ABOUT ME

Nice to meet you all of the couchsurfers here. I'm Markus born and raised in Tainan, and have stayed in Taichung for studying for 5+ years, having stayed in Taipei, Taiwan's capital for a year. Thus, I could also give some recommendation on the travelling plan in Taipei as well, nevertheless I highly recommend tourist to visit places elsewhere in Taipei longer, the outskirt cities represent the genuine Taiwan than the capital. Even though Taiwan is not a famous travelling spot compared with other region in Asia such as Japan or Southeast Asia. However, Taiwan reserves more traditional and spiritual activities than Mainland China and more friendly to strangers in general.

If you do not hustle city such as Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. I think you can select Tainan as your alternative options for travelling. In Tainan, you can eat many local food which hybridized between Mainland China and Taiwan. Also, western food such as noodles, steaks are introduced for many decades. Moreover, historical heritages are most you cannot missed in travelling, as Taiwan was occupied by Dutch, Japanese for decades.

If you love countryside scenery, not far from downtown Tainan City, you can visit more interesting spot unexpectedly.
