Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Saleem. I'm a 25-year-old computer science student from Nasiriyah, Iraq. I'm passionate about meeting new people, learning from different cultures, and showing the true warmth of Iraqi hospitality.
I live with my kind and welcoming family — they love meeting guests just as much as I do! Together, we enjoy hosting travelers and giving them a home away from home.
I'm here because I believe in helping others and creating real human connections. I’ll do my best to help my guests with anything they need — from free meals and a clean place to sleep, to guidance and friendship during their stay.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe in real human connection. Couchsurfing is more than free accommodation — it's about exchanging cultures, stories, and kindness.
I want to help travelers explore southern Iraq and make them feel at home. Many people don’t know what Iraq is really like, and I’m here to change that, one guest at a time.
Interests
I'm passionate about technology, programming, and learning new things every day. I enjoy having deep conversations about life, culture, and philosophy. I'm also very interested in hearing travel stories and understanding how people live in different parts of the world.
I love spending time with guests — sharing food, walking around the city, or just relaxing and talking about anything. I'm curious, open-minded, and always excited to meet kind and open-minded people from all backgrounds.

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some Arabic words (and how to say them like a true Iraqi!), show you how we live here, and maybe even a bit of coding magic 🧙♂️💻. I’d love to learn about your culture, language, and favorite weird food! I’m always happy to share good vibes, stories, home-cooked meals, and tea with new friends ☕🍽️.
What I Can Share with Hosts
- A tour to the ancient city of Ur
- Marshes trip (al-Ahwar) depending on time and season
- Local street food and home-cooked Iraqi meals
- Market visit (especially fabrics, spices, and crafts)
- Insight into southern Iraqi lifestyle and traditions
- Fun conversations and help with local logistics
