About Me

Me and my girlfriend have a gap year before we start working and are currently traveling through New Zealand by car and the plan is to have no plan.

We wanted to ride around with our tandem but the airline did not take ours and we quickly realized that this country is way too big to go by bike.

We are both going to be teachers when we return to Germany. My girlfriend for special education and me for Sports, English and Arts.

We are from Ulm in the South of Germany near Stuttgart and study in Heidelberg near Frankfurt. You are also very welcome to stay with us as soon as we are back. We have an amazing convertible couch that has hosted many of our friends and family already.

If you want to join us in our car after we have stayed with you you are very welcome to do so. We are always looking to give people rides to minimize the carbon footprint of our trip.

Generally Theresa and I are very different. I am very active and she is more of a chilled person. It has somehow perfectly worked out for the last 10 years and we also do not know how.

In winter we like to game and chill with friends. I like bouldering and Squash as well. When we have snow I also go Ski-Touring in the alps and regular downhill skiing. In summers we just enjoy amazing days outside while picknicking and playing Spikeball and I also play Beachvolleyball. I also enjoy rock climbing a lot.

I also got Theresa hooked on anime so we also enjoy watching some series every now and then.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people and learn about cultures and places I am staying at. In Scotland we met amazing people along our journey. It was also nice to have a rest from wildcamping and have a shower but we realized that this was not the main point of staying with others.

Interests

Doing cool things with cool people or by myself. I am a person that enjoys basically everything apart from some vegetables and Schlager/Country music

  • arts
  • culture
  • cycling
  • food
  • cycle touring

Music, Movies, and Books

Jack Johnson. The yellow album with the black tree on it. Dont know the name.

Movies:

Obviously Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and The life of Bryan.

Books: same as movies but books are way better as you would expect. harry potter, classics like The Perfume or the german author Benedict Wells

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Scotland we were hosted by some of the friendliest people we have met. We had never used Warmshowers (Couchsurfing for bike touring) and were blown away. The trust and help we received was crazy. Here is the link to our profile with the reviews we have received:

I will attach pics of our references.

Teach, Learn, Share

We always cooked "Käse Spätzle" for our hosts on our bike trip. It is self made egg noodles with cheese. Germans would be offended to hear that but it is like a much more sophisticated Mac&Cheese and obviously a lot nicer. So if you have a kitchen and eat dairy we would love to invite you to a german dinner. It is typical of our region in the south.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Käse Spätzle

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In
