About Me
Hi everyone! I grew up in Hamburg, but since 2013 I am studying in living in Lüneburg. In 2009 I did an exchange year in Chile. I went to school there and lived in a wonderful host family. They were so extremely welcoming and I was amazed how they opened their house and their hearts for some stranger who didnt even speak their language. They tried to show me as much as possible of their country and culture. That is probably the event that started my enthusiasm for travelling and also for learning new languages. Living abroad in a host family for such a long time changed my whole perspective on my own culture. When I came back to Germany I had a huge reverse culture shock. And ever since I am searching the right place for me in this world. But there are just so many possibilities! :) I feel that I learned a lot from the people I met while travelling or living abroad and I am extremely thankful for all the opportunities to travel.
In 2015 I lived in the beautiful city of Barcelona for two semesters. I did erasmus there and absolutely adore the city. One year is definitely not enough to get to know everything it has to offer. I love exploring the world, both cities and the wonders of nature. I was always extremely interested in nature. I love how standing on top of a mountain or in front of the sea makes you feel so small! As a teenager I started doing voluntary work for Greenpeace for several years. And now I am pursuing my passion by studying environmental sciences. Of course my life objective is to save the planet but we'll see how that works out ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Many of my friends told me about the great experiences they made with couchsurfing and about all the inspiring and nice people they met all over the world. And my first experiences on couchsurfing have been great! meeting locals and sharing your home as well as experiences with others is exactly the way of travelling that I like!
Interests
Of course I love travelling ;) and I love learning new languages as they are the key to meeting new people. when I am in a new country I always try to learn at least some basic words. It's amazing how learning a new language broadens your understanding of your own language.
I also really like hiking, camping, swimming and cycling! Sometimes I enjoy reading a good book. And every moment just gets better when you're listening to the fitting song for it ;) I like very different kinds of music: Reggae, Electro Swing, Balkan Music, some folk music, salsa, some indie music, singer songwriter stuff and some good oldies of course :) I also love singing and I play the guitar a little bit

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
A lot of amazing things happened on my travels. Like sleeping in the desert, seeing snow in the desert(!), seeing penguines and seals in wildlife, do horse-riding trips through the chilean countryside, eat traditional mapuche food and many many more experiences I am really thankful for!
Teach, Learn, Share
I really wanna improve my guitar skills, although i could also teach someone the basics if interested. And I am always open for learning new languages or I could teach you some German.
