About Me

I have a very interesting profession. I am a filmmaker. This is my second occupation. Before this I graduated from Maritime Academy with speciality of Navigation. I even had a bit of work into the sea as a seaman on a Greek supertanker carrying oil through the Indian Ocean.

I like sport and all outdoor activities. I'm not smoking and don't advise to you. Not drinking too. And also I am a vegetarian.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While I'm surfing: it helps me to break down the barriers of my mind. During my travels I met a lot of friendly people and visited a dozens of amazing places. Such places didn't described in tourist guides. It is known only by locals. I learned a lot and had a lot of laughs. Also I know that in case of trouble I may ask a help.

While I'm hosting: it broadens my horizons. I heard a lot of interesting stories and met many open minded people. I like people and their stories. You know: I am a film director. All the stories I hear fall into my "piggy bank". And who knows, maybe, someday, the audience will see your story in a movie theatre!

Interests

I have a wide range of interests. We are living once and I want to try everything! Of cource I don't have enough time to do all what I want, but I am trying. :)

So... I love arts (theatres, movies, music, pictures, galleries, architecture), love outdoor activities (mountaineering, climbing, boating, skiing, roller skating, horse riding, winter swimming, etc.), love to spend an evenings with friends and play board games. Sometimes I am working as a volunteer.

And, of course I'm crazy of my work!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: too many that I love. To name only a few: Radiohead, Pink Floyd, MUSE, Leonard Cohen, Chris Rea, etc, etc. :)

Films: I love films by Alejandro Inarritu, Alan Parker, Christopher Nolan, Cohen brothers, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, etc, etc. :)

Books: Erich Maria Remarque, Lev Tolstoy, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Ken Kesey, Patrick Suskind

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Perhaps, a thing is not the one... I had a lot of adventures. Here are the few of them:
• I ran the Moscow marathon (42 km 195 m) two times.
• I climbed to Kilimanjaro mountain (5895 m).
• I lived a day in a cave without light and fire.
• I travelled for two month by hitchhiking around the USA.
• I spent a week in a tent in winter Siberia.
• I saw the Aurora in winter Arctic.

And how many things still to do!

Teach, Learn, Share

• I can hold a Chinese tea ceremony.
• I can show your my short movie.
• If you want to get unforgettable impressions from visiting Moscow in the winter... Ready? I can take you to swim in ice-cold water! Ha-ha! Really!
• You want something else? Let's do it!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live in a cozy apartment with a terrific view of the forest. It is hard to imagine that the apartment with such view is located in the city with over twelve millions people! I hope you will feel comfortable here. If you like outdoor activities, we might do something together (e.g. horse riding, skiing, ice skating, trampolining, etc).

!!! Please read this !!!
Every day I receive about 3 requests for accommodation. If I will press "Yes" for everyone, my life will turn into nightmare!

For me Coucsurfing is the way to meet interesting people and expand my horizon. I wold like to listen your stories and I hope I could tell something interesting too. But two conditions should be executed. The first one: you should be interesting for me. The second: I should be interesting for you. I have an amazing work and a lot of hobbies, so I don't have a problem to find what to do at the evening.

About 90% of people who want to stay at my home, didn't even read my profile. Such requests will be rejected. Many people think that couchsurfing is a free hotel. Buddies, there are a lot of hostels in Moscow where you may stay for very little money.

Therefore, sending a couchrequest, please try to write more about you and why you want to stay with me.
