ABOUT ME

I'm a 29 year old architect from Northern Finland, Oulu. I live with my nearly 2 year old male samoyed dog Mauno. He loves all people, and every female dog too. ;)

My name is part of Finland's ancient saga, and in Lapland you can actually find a small town and a mountain called Salla. I don't know if it's because of that, but I feel my roots are strongly in North Finland.

I'm a really down-to-earth type of person, but every now and then I get the urge to try something totally new. Like couchsurfing! Except that I've actually been close to a 'couchsurfer host' many times in the past years, without even noticing. Hosting friends of my friends, whom I've never met before. Always had great experiences with them.

Interests

My passions in life are samoyeds, animals in general, art and creative lifestyle, old buildings and designing their repair, good food and wine, company of good friends and last but definitely not least family bonds. I also love photographing, both taking pictures and watching great shots. In the sports field I mosly enjoy asthanga yoga, climbing, telemark skiing, hiking, ski-hiking, running, slacklining, and dog-sledding. I've also ridden horses for quite a few years, not at this very moment though. I train my dog to be a search dog to find lost people for the Finnish volunteer organisation Vapepa.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love loads of different kind of music, for example: John Lee Hooker, Chick Corea, Gotan Project, Janis Joplin, Fidel Nadal, Sibelius, M.A. Numminen, Johnny Cash, Deep Purple, Duffy..

I like almost any movie as long as it's not all about just shooting and violence.
The movie I've cried the most for is 'Miesten vuoro'('Steam of Life', 2009). It's a 'poetic portrait of finnish men'.
