About Me

My husband and I are attempting to ride 125cc Hondas from Santiago, Chile to San Franciso, USA. We start in October and are aiming to be away a year. We plan to stick as close to the West coast as much as we can, surfing some of the amazing places on the road North. We are still in the early stages of learning Spanish but are trying!

Tom (my husband) is a photographer and film maker who is hoping to document the surf and motorcycle communities of the Americas.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

One of the best things about traveling is the people you meet and the insights into local life gained. We hope that couch surfing will help us to connect with the places we are passing through and help us to meet other surfers, motorcyclists and friends.

Interests

We both love to surf, we live very close to the beach here in England and surf every opportunity we get; we have travelled through France, Morocco and Indonesia and have loved where surfing has taken us.

We aren't 'bikers'; we are going to be riding XR125's but we have been forced to be interested in bikes as they will become our home for a year.

We love food, music, films, history, walking, swimming and photography.

Music, Movies, and Books

We both love and are inspired by the great American classics; Steinbeck, Kerouac, Hemingway etc. We also love to read travel books and the odd crime thriller!

We like an eclectic mix of music, from Neil Young to ACDC, Bob Dylan to Stiff Little Fingers but we both have a feeling we are going to love South American music.

We love all sorts of films, from trashy Hollywood to low budget indie films. We have been trying to watch Spanish language films recently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am a crew member on my local lifeboat, this has introduced me to so many different experiences and made a really positive impact on my community. I have been on 'shouts' where we have rescued boats sinking far out at sea and have got a few people out of trouble in the water.

Teach, Learn, Share

Surf, photography, English.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are a kind hearted, warm, easy going, conscientious couple, keen to listen and learn from others. We can cook, clean, help out, help with your English, teach you to surf and take some photographs of you!

I am sure we will have a few stories from the road to share; plus if you are ever in England you are more than welcome to stay at our beautiful home in the UK.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Fiji, France, Indonesia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Scotland, Spain, Switzerland, United States
