ABOUT ME
I'm very easy going about the small things and simultaneously super passionate about life. I love meeting people, talking and listening to what they have to say. I love to read and write and be outdoors. I enjoy cooking and my passions in life are tea and chocolate. I believe that everybody can influence your life and the world is a gigantic ocean of people of which most don't venture out past their safety of their tide pool.
PHILOSOPHY
I want to make people's lives a little better if I can, whether it be just a smile or baking them a cake.I believe that we are on this earth fir a short, undetermined amount of time and there is no sense in being miserable while we are here. I can't control what happens after I die, but what I can control is how I live my life NOW, and that, I try to do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
My current living situation doesn't allow me to host people so as of now I am banking on the goodness of others. However, I am confident that in the near future, my living arrangements will change and I will be more than willing to accomodate and welcome couch surfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've done my fair share of couch crashing :). But there are a lot of couches to be surfed and people to be met, so bring it on!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm currently into reading coming of age books. I just recently read, and really enjoyed The Secret Life of Bees bt Susan Monk Kidd, also Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, The Little Prince and The Alchemist. I most all genres, but I am "growing up" currently and these books are fitting for the phase of life I am in.
Music: this is really tough, I really enjoy discovering unknown bands that come to local concerts. I recently discovered Fado and I like it's melancholic air although I don't understand what they're saying. I like jazz and I especially enjoy blues. I like singers with smokers voices such as Tom Waits or Leonard Cohen. It really depends on my mood and what I'm doing, if I'm cooking I like to listen to Andrea Bocelli, if I am going to take a nap, Carla Bruni...I really like Bob Dylan covers, I love the lyrics and think the man is brilliant but I don't like his voice.
Movies, I'm not big on watching movies and I'm anti-Hollywood.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things I did in my life was go to Morocco. I went with a group and we stayed with a family there. The family consisted of a woman, her daughter and son, her parentless niece that she was raising, her widowed sister-in-law and a friend. They all lived in a 3 bedroom house and none of them worked. Her husband had passed away and he had been the one to work outside of the home. She made a little bit of money by hosting travelers like myself. I didn't know this at the time, but she gave me and my traveling companion her bed to sleep in. When we sat to eat a meal together, the 8 of us gathered around 1 platter of pasta and using forks ate out of the same platter. The most humbling thing about it is that the family wouldn't eat the meat, pushing it to our side of the platter, as we were the guests. Although we could not communicate using words, as we had no language in common, our actions, expressions and gestures served a to express our gratitude. I think this simple act of humanity taught me that there are amazing people all over the workd willing to serve and love you, if you only present yourself with the opportunity.
Teach, Learn, Share
There are a plethora of things I'd like to learn how to do like make cheese, make wine, bread, improve my sewing skills, etc. I don't know what I can teach. Maybe how to make yogurt and remove grease stains from your clothes :).
