About Me
ABOUT ME
I've studied slime molds at the graduate level, traveled, catered huge parties, been a restaurant consultant, taught biology, taught English, minored in music, crocheted well, thrown pottery...less well, and knitted abominably. I don't have a "passion" and hate the term; it seems so sadly reductive. I believe in pursuing all your passions, plural, and resisting definition. A bit quiet and shy but I love to bask in interesting personalities. "Interesting" is the highest complement I can pay anything or anybody.

Interests
I love to make beautiful things and see how things are made. Food, music, science, and literature will always be good subjects for conversation. Seeing life from a different point of view, seeing people live life as art: that's what lights me up.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Making my lute in Devon with Norman Reed, secular saint, guiding my hand as I learned to saw a 1mm slice from a chunk of oak, nostrils clogging with black sawdust, hand moving against the expensive wood by trust alone. Gathering seven different flowers on a Swedish midsummer evening to lay under my pillow, falling asleep to the smell of sweet william. Cheese and chips with housemates and my future husband, watching the horrible /Josie and the Pussycats/ (our only DVD) for the hundredth time, pale red-veined apples from our garden, happiness.
