About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep meeting amazing people and see as much of Europe as I can.

ABOUT ME

Easygoing, adventurous, inquisitive, passionate, responsible, loyal, open minded, spontaneous, resourceful and creative.

PHILOSOPHY

To try to be the best person I can be for myself, the people around me and for the world I live in, and have a massive amount of fun while I'm at it :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A bunch of amazing hosts so far, looking forward to meeting more hosts from around the world!

Interests

My main interest at the moment is traveling of course, meeting people and learning about the world.

I'm passionate about science, the arts and fashion. I love dancing, I used to teach street Latin in Sydney. I love all sorts of music, except boy bands! I love reading, usually two books at a time, one to feed the brain and another for mindless entertainment :)

I love sailing and have been yacht racing on and off for years, mainly in Sydney harbour but some off-shore too... yes I'm just a little crazy :) Being outdoors is great, I walk a lot in the cities I visit and out in the country too. I enjoy swimming and horse riding, I play very average tennis, but enjoy playing anyway. I also really enjoy gardening and cooking.

Sitting still usually involves reading, writing or going to the movies.

I love making things, I make some of my own clothes, I've made some of the furniture in my place, I was a jeweller for 12 years too. I like being independent, doing as much for myself as I can like cutting and colouring my own hair!

The environment is really important to me too so I try to recycle, reuse, repurpose and reduce! Hmm ... I sound like a hippy... I also love going to pubs, having a few drinks, playing pool (make that winning at pool ;) and listening to live music. ... Not sure if that's much better....

I usually find the galleries and museums first in each new city but love getting a little lost and away from the tourist areas.

I guess like everybody I'm a mixture of all sorts of things and am always keen to add new things to that mix!

Phew! I hate writing these things!!! Like another surfer said, a picture is worth a thousand words... Have a look at the photos :)

... or read some of my stories from the SMH... news, features and DIY tips and advice.

Too many amazing artists to list, I love so many types of music from big band and jazz to pop and dance music as well as a bit of country and some heavy metal! Pretty much anything except boy bands ;)

Books
Love books about all sorts of science especially about the brain. I love fantasy and sic-fi as well as the classics and you can't go wrong with a good laugh-out-loud book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many things... met amazing people, been to incredible places, learned the most astounding things....

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new things, I also love teaching. If you are open to it, you can learn the most surprising things from people, especially about yourself.

I'm qualified to teach English as a second language - my last job was online editor for one of Australia's best newspapers, The Sydney Morning Herald. I used to teach salsa and sewing too, I'm also pretty handy around the house and garden and in the kitchen.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Czech Republic, Egypt, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Madagascar, Monaco, Mozambique, Poland, Russian Federation, South Africa, Spain, Turkey, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United States, Vatican City State, Zimbabwe
