About Me

My name is Salma,
a compulsive wanderer with a soft spot for stories and serendipity, the kind of soul who believes every person is a walking novel, carrying an untold chapter and a lesson stitched into their being.

I don’t travel to tick places off a list. I travel to gather echoes. Laughter spilling onto cobbled streets. Midnight confessions whispered in unfamiliar tongues. Shared silences under foreign skies. I believe that somewhere in all this, between the laughter and the longing, lies the raw material for something sacred: connection.

If I had to distill my dream into a single image, it would be this:
Me, floating aimlessly through the great aesthetic sprawl of the world, dancing between languages, befriending fellow drifters, sleeping under starlit ceilings, chasing the scent of cardamom in narrow alleyways, and collecting stories like pressed flowers between the pages of memory.
One day, I hope to earn the right to call myself a storyteller, not by title, but by having truly lived a life worth telling.

Yes, I’m a senior pharmacy student, but my education began long before that. It started in the quiet of my childhood room, where I’d spend hours sketching dreamscapes in my head: invented cities, imagined conversations, lives I might one day live. Somewhere in those imagined dialogues, I picked up English, not from grammar books, but from pretend monologues whispered to an invisible audience.

I fall in love easily, not with people necessarily, but with moments. A stranger’s gesture. The golden hour on unfamiliar pavement. A good song looping through a bad day. I’m endlessly captivated by people who speak with reverence about the things they love, who light up when they tell you about that book, that meal, that place, that heartbreak. That’s where the magic lives.

So if our paths happen to cross, don’t think of me as a guest in your city or a name in your inbox. Consider me a co-conspirator in memory making, a temporary companion in the long, strange poem of life.
Let’s make something worth remembering.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here to listen, to learn, to make new friends and spend unforgettable moments with, to be open about my thoughts, beliefs and ambitions with people that i know they will understand. I'm here because this idea is unbelievably fascinating.. the idea that the world can really be a small village on which everyone gets to meet anyone.. anywhere! and they discuss similar subjects with extremely dissimilar aspects!

Music, Movies, and Books

Literary realism with twists, post metal especially ( also pretty much any kind of music ). Sad movies.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a fondness for decisions made in the heat of feeling, uncalculated, unscripted, untamed. I trust the quiet tug in my chest more than flowcharts or probabilities. No cautious “what ifs,” no intricate blueprints mapping every next step. I prefer the thrilling uncertainty of letting life unfold on instinct.

To me, nothing that happens is ever truly bad. Every moment, even the ones steeped in shadow, is just another brushstroke on the sprawling canvas we call life. And no true masterpiece is composed solely of dazzling colors. It’s the interplay of light and dark, of softness and sharp contrast, that gives the painting its soul. The melancholy hues, the abrupt smears, the golden accidents, they all belong.

When we abandon the obsession with control, we make room for the universe to compose its own symphony. And it rarely disappoints. Somehow, it conspires in quiet, wondrous ways, stringing together improbable encounters and astonishing turns that no human mind could’ve plotted.

In surrendering control, we invite surprise. In trusting our whims, we create stories worth telling. Every impulsive step becomes a new detail, strange, vivid, irreplaceable, in the singular, exceptional portrait of a life fully lived.
