Overview
About Me
Hey there! I’m Saloni from India – an adventure freak who wants to try everything without expecting to be good at it. I believe experiences are more important than perfection.
I’m currently a civil engineering student at IIT Bombay, and for the past 3 years, I’ve spent almost every break traveling—often solo, sometimes cashless, ALWAYS curious. I’ve lived in remote villages, worked with locals, and even built a startup around sustainable tourism. Now, I’m on a semester exchange in Strasbourg and excited to explore Europe through the eyes of people who live there.
I’m always up for spontaneous plans, long conversations, street food, or just sitting quietly and observing life. Whether it's learning history, jamming to local music, or exploring a flea market—I’m in!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To experience places through people.
Hotels can’t give you what Couchsurfing can—conversations over dinner, spontaneous adventures, insider tips, and genuine human connection. I want to live like a local, understand cultures deeply, and make friends across the world.
And of course, I’d love to host or help when I’m back in India!

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything I can vibe or dance to or anything you can teach me dance to. Generally- Indie, folk, old-school Bollywood, lo-fi
Movies and series- Pursuit of Happyness, Game of Thrones, Suits.
I used to read books a lot but not these days
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently completed tri-country 120 km run in 17 hours with almost no training but a crazy idea and stubborn resolve.
I traveled solo and cashless across India (which is quite unsafe in general), staying with strangers, bartering skills for food and shelter, and assisting in community projects.
Teach, Learn, Share
I believe in the kindness of strangers and the power of conversations. Whether it's helping in the kitchen, sharing yoga lessons (I’m a certified instructor!), or just having a deep chat over tea, I’d love to contribute meaningfully during my stay.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Some delicious Indian Recipes, good vibes and a hell lotta excitement.
