About Me
Me and my husband James are travelling the world before we have any kids! We are an easygoing couple who enjoy both quiet nights in and occasional raves. I am a junior Doctor aiming to go into paediatrics and my husband James is training to be a surveyor after giving up on teaching a long time ago.
So far on this 6-8month trip we have travelled around China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia and will be headed to Malaysia next before setting off to Australia then New Zealand. On previous trips I have been to India, Laos, Kenya, Cuba and Central America... we love travelling!
We are very happy to help with household chores and such like when we stay and luckily neither of us smell too bad or snore :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Obviously we are trying to save pennies but also I love to hear recommendations from locals about their favourite things in the area- from food to activities. With fly by visits and hotel stops we miss out on the real culture of a place, this is only really available if spending time with locals!
Interests
When travelling I like to get involved and find out about the history and culture of a place. I also like doing physical, active challenges but I am not the fittest person i know by a long way! Because I work in a hospital and spend all day chatting to patients, strangers, and I love this aspect of my work, I love conversation with people from different backgrounds.

Music, Movies, and Books
Mostly older stuff 80s, 90s hits from oasis blur etc. Not opposed to occasional bit of cheese. Like indie bands and ska but not so far as mental I would say.
Love to watch movies, but not a fan of horror/gore. I have vivid dreams and these are not so good if I've been watching horror! James likes a horror though.
Books-wise my favourite genre is fantasy fiction by far! But I like books in general and if none of my favourite authors are about I'll usually pick up a book that was nominated for some prize or something, always a safe bet.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ooh one? Probably my favourite story is the one about jumping onto a moving train in India.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach... Ummm. Hmm well I can practice English with people! If they're interested in medicine I could probably teach them a few things about that.
Learning wise; I would always like to learn about new cultures.
Sharing- I'm always happy to share a game of cards, food, fun :-)
