Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet people by surfing and by hosting, to share ideas, dreams and possibilities

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I cycled across Germany in September 2010 from Berlin to Konstanz and stayed with some great couch surfers on the way. in 2011 I travelled by bike and train across Northern France, my mobility somewhat damaged by having been knocked off my bike by a car. However I stayed with a couple of wonderful couch surfers who were very welcoming and from whom I learned a lot from their serious commitment to the couch surfing ideas and ideals. In 2014 I cycled from Moulin's in central France all the way to the source of the Allier then over to Toulouse and down the canal du midi and up into the montaine noire which feeds water to the canal. I met some some wonderful couch surfing hosts on the way. My experience with couch surfing has been very patchy since then with lots of requests not answered or refused. So I have since done my hosting and guesting with warmshowers. However with urging of friends (thanks S!) I have reactivated my couch surfing account to try to carry on the spirit of cooperation, hosting and guesting.

Interests

Cycling, hiking, sailing, social action, solidarity work, supporting third world charities.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
