Hey! We’re Sam and Rachel, a married couple based in Hutchinson, Kansas. Hospitality is a big part of our lives—whether it’s making someone feel at home, grabbing coffee with a friend, or helping out in the community. We love meeting new people and believe some of the best conversations happen around a shared meal or on a spontaneous road trip.

Sam also goes by Dylan hence the name on the account, he is currently in college studying radiologic technology. He’s hands-on with just about anything—cars, creative projects, fixing what’s broken—and he’s always up for volunteering or helping someone out. Rachel is a dental assistant with a heart for people. She loves encouraging others, catching up with friends over coffee, and jumping into volunteer work wherever she can.

We’ve both worked with youth camps, nonprofits, and community programs, so we’re used to stepping into new environments and making connections quickly. Couchsurfing is a natural fit for us—we’re here for the people, not just the couch.

I have a friend who Is very involved in the couch suffering community. He introduced me to it a while back and I love the concept of such a welcoming community.
I will always take an opportunity to meet new people, to live life adventurously and to go wherever I can.

We both have a heart for helping others and love building relationships—whether that’s with new friends or old ones we’ve known for years.

Some of our shared and individual interests include: mentoring youth, volunteering in our community, taking road trips, doing camp counseling, and spending time with people over coffee or meals. Sam’s into cosplay and has even made his own costumes for competitions, while Rachel loves creating welcoming spaces and encouraging people however she can.

We both love books that dive into philosophy, theology, and the big questions about life.

When it comes to shows, we’re into a mix of thoughtful, weird, and heartfelt. Community, The Chosen, Regular Show, and Sherlock are all in the rotation depending on the mood.

Our music taste is all over the place, and our playlists are probably longer than they should be. If you ever want a custom mixtape, just say the word.
