For me travel is about learning, not just a holiday.
I think it’s important to get off the tourist trail and meet local people to learn about different ways of life around the world.

As I’ve become a more experienced traveller, I’ve found that making connections with people and having unexpected adventures is far more rewarding than just looking at tourist attractions.

In terms of reading, I’m really interested in Ancient Greek and Roman books (I’m currently starting the Aeneid).

My music taste is very chaotic, but in particular I listen to a lot of The Beatles and The Velvet Underground.

Took my Mum backpacking and staying in hostels in Albania + Macedonia.

Visited Syria independently 4 months after the fall of the Assad regime.

I’m a bit of a nerd for languages and I’m always trying to learn a bit of the language wherever I visit.

I have done some volunteering as an English teacher, so I’m always happy to help people with their English. .

I’ve been to a lot of countries by now, so I have a lot of stories and perspectives on different parts of the world that I can share.

In particular, I have travelled India extensively so if you want any advice about travelling India I’m the expert 🙂.

I love cooking and in particular I make very good foul (middle eastern fried fava beans).
