Hi! My name's Sam. I'm new to couch surfing. I live in the UK's best city (in my opinion) – Bristol – which is renowned for it's art, food and sustainability. I work for a food and drink guide, writing articles and taking photographs. One day I hope to be a full time photographer, which will allow me to travel the world for work (in my dreams). I'm new to couch surfing. I've used it with friends who have accounts, and I've always had a great time and met amazing people – from the South of France to Vietnam. I love to travel, but I don't earn a great deal – and more importantly I really believe that meeting locals is the best way to enjoy a holiday and see the best a place has to offer.

My favourite music is instrumental; everything from rock & roll through to country and western, jazz, metal and much more. Right now I'm listening to a lot of country music; particularly Willie Nelson. I like almost all films. At the moment I'm trying to get into Sci-Fi with some Arthur C Clarke (feeling spacey) but I also really enjoy South American literature like Isabelle Allende and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I also love reading about history.
