Hi friends!!

My name is Samantha, although most people know me as Sam. I am originally from Apex, North Carolina, obtained a nursing degree from the University of North Carolina- Wilmington, and then spontaneously moved down to the beautiful island of St. John in the US Virgin Islands with my boyfriend after deciding we didn't really want to live the fast paced, 8-5 lifestyle, at least not yet.

I am so passionate about life; doing and seeing everything I can in the time that I have. Living for fun and trying my dang hardest to spread joy. Smiling and laughing big time and loving hard. Coffee, Yoga, being outdoors, sweating, live music, the color yellow, a good podcast, and conversations with new friends are just a few of the things that make me happy happy!

I am a total kook to bicycle touring (literally not even a cyclist before this), but my boyfriend and I are embarking on a pretty ambitious trip across the US from North Carolina to Washington (maybe?). Good ol' COVID left us unemployed and out of our place in St. John and neither of us can sit still for too long, so this is what we came up with! We love to live simply and the idea of seeing the country by bicycle sounds like a dream! With that being said, we would love any assistance while on this journey and with the world being a little uncertain at the time: words of wisdom, a yard to pitch a tent, a warm shower, some good conversation, really anything.

While we are unable to host a couch at this time, we absolutely plan to in the future (who wouldn't love a free place to stay while exploring the Virgin Islands?!). The most beautiful thing we experience is life itself. Kindness, gratitude, love, a few of the free things we all can do. I am super excited to meet some of you all!! Thanks for reading!!

To get to know people and to enjoy good company with sweet strangers who are kind enough to welcome me into their space! How incredible! One of my favorite parts of bike touring has been seeing all of the different ways people live life, and what brings them joy.
