Hey! I'm Sam, a Cuban-Syrian traveler, language lover, and human rights activist. I was born in Cuba and raised in Syria, and I feel at home in both cultures (and many others too!). I'm passionate about meeting new people, sharing stories, and learning from different ways of life.

I speak Arabic, Spanish, English, and Italian, and I love using languages to connect across borders. I’ve worked in humanitarian and community-based projects, especially supporting displaced people, women, and LGBTQ+ youth. Travel is not just about places for me—it's about the people you meet and the memories you create together.

People say I’m open-minded, kind, and full of good vibes. I love deep conversations, healthy food, music from all over the world, and spontaneous adventures. I’m always curious about how others see the world and love exchanging cultural experiences.

🎵 Music:
I love music that carries emotion and soul—whether it’s classic Arabic songs by Fairuz or Umm Kulthum, Cuban rhythms like salsa and trova, or international artists like Buena Vista Social Club, Cesária Évora, or Julio Iglesias. I’m always curious to discover local music from the places I visit—music is my favorite way to feel a culture.

🎬 Movies:
I enjoy films that make me think or feel deeply—like The Kite Runner, Y Tu Mamá También, Persepolis, Incendies, or La Vita è Bella. I also have a soft spot for powerful documentaries and indie films that tell human stories often ignored by mainstream cinema.

📚 Books:
I’m passionate about literature that explores identity, resistance, and belonging. Some favorites are OSHO books, The Prophet by Khalil Gibran, The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I also enjoy poetry, especially in Arabic and Spanish—words that heal and ignite the soul

I once spent an entire night in a small village with no electricity in northern Syria, listening to stories from elders around a fire. We shared food, laughter, and music—none of us spoke the same native language, but somehow we understood each other perfectly. It reminded me that humanity speaks many tongues, but one heart.

I'm also happy to share stories from my experiences growing up in Syria and Cuba, working in humanitarian fields, or even how to make simple traditional dishes from my cultures. If you're into dancing, I can show you some basic dabke steps!

I love learning about new cultures, languages, and philosophies of life. I'm always open to trying new foods, hearing your life story, or understanding how you see the world. I'm especially interested in how people live simply and joyfully in different parts of the world.

I share my good energy, deep respect, and curiosity. Whether it’s a meaningful conversation, a walk around town, or cooking together, I love creating authentic moments with people. I believe in kindness, empathy, and the little things that connect us.
