My name is Sam ☀️ I’m a 24-year-old master student of paleontology, paleoclimatology and paleoenvironments currently based in… well, on the road.

Originally I come from the USA, however, I’ve made quite a move throughout my life with my studies taking me from Ireland - France - Belgium - Sweden. To add to it, my love of travel and meeting people has taken me to several other countries as well 🙌 which is how I found couch surfing and meet so many great people.

Currently adventure - embarking on a hitchhike with my boyfriend from Bruxelles to Sweden 🏕️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about couch surfing from some friends back in the states and thought it would be a good community to reach out to. I really enjoy meeting new people and my first couple experiences using couchsurfers have been incredible. Met some of the most interesting people on here!

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything by Penguin books I can’t seem to put down. Just finished Steppenwolf and Narcissus and Goldmund by Herman Hesse. Id recommend everyone read the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and Ishmael by Daniel Quinn.

I love pretty much all music. I’m a sucker for going to live gigs I think it’s beautiful to see the magic happen. Some favourites are Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Loyle Carner, Joy Crookes, The Kooks, Artic Monkeys, Milky Chance, Le Wanski…

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I moved myself across the ocean to Ireland to study after visiting once before and falling in love with the country. I didn’t know anyone before I came and now I’ve lived here for 4 years and feel more Irish than American these days.

Hitchhiked from the Spanish border of France to Bruxelles as a solo female.
