Hello everybody!

My name is Sam and I am an aspiring world traveler. My day to day life as a material planner for an automotive company just doesn't cut it anymore and I want to spread my wings further. I love all sports and one of my favourite past times is telling stories of adventures that I or others have embarked on. I believe I am an open, outgoing and fun person who aims to put smiles on peoples faces wherever I go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am planning to embark on a world tour at the end of 2020. In the meantime I want to go on smaller trips to make sure I am happy with the idea of being away from home for an extended period of time. I have travelled in different capacities so far but would really welcome as many smiling faces and helpful locals on my journey in the future. Couch surfing is something I have heard great things about and I believe that if I am going to be successful on my journey, then meeting locals, sharing experiences and having a warm dose of knowledge on my adventure is going to be paramount to that.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will listen to all kinds of music, having grown up in a multi-generational family, with differing tastes, I am used to being open-minded when it comes to music and enjoy many forms.

I am a big movie buff. I will watch films from all genres. Some of my favourite films are Shawshank Redemption, Mean Girls, Pulp Fiction, Avatar, Avengers (and subsequent Marvel superhero movies), Coach Carter, Green Mile, Gladiator and many more. As you can see I will watch anything.

I do not read as much as I used to when I was studying English Literature at school, with inspirations coming from differing genres.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once created and took part in a charity cycling event which raised money for Cancer Research. The event spanned 3 days and covered 200 miles, in which myself and 4 others with another 2 crew members, cycled and ran from Wigan to Milton Keynes in memory of friends and family we had lost to Cancer in recent times. I am extremely proud to have done this event.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have background in teaching young students in English and Maths from a generic perspective. As well as a sports coaching vocation that I have had success with consistently. I am always willing to learn new skills and would be more than open to learn new languages, cooking techniques and anything else anyone would care to teach me. I always write a story from wherever I go and plan to write a blog of my ongoing adventures to share with the world what I see and learn.
