关于我

ABOUT ME

I'm a grad student at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary, where I study history. Aside from academic life, I'm a sort of nomad-in-the-making, as I've lived in two other countries: my last resting stop was Istanbul, Turkey. Before then I lived on the beautiful Mediterranean coastal city of Antalya. I love learning about different cultures and peoples, and I'm really keen to expand my life beyond what I've known.

PHILOSOPHY

I consider myself more cosmopolitan than necessarily conservative or liberal (politically). This is s driving force in my personality and I believe it's okay to debate all beliefs because it gives everyone a better picture of the world, one conversation at a time. Additionally, while I'm not religious, I do have a deeply spiritual side which opens to all faiths and outlooks. Only through experience and love can we make the world a better place.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

While I'm living in Budapest, I am trying to make up for lost time as a kid where I did almost no traveling before. I'm hoping to meet some wonderful people along the way!

兴趣

I am generally a very observant and perceptive person, so I tend to notice and appreciate the smaller things in life. Whether it be nature, architecture, or people, I enjoy understanding and appreciating it/them. Additionally I really enjoy deep conversations and debates; anything is on the table for me and I enjoy learning how people think and what they know. My typical hobbies include reading, writing, research, cooking, and of course traveling.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

The first most impressive sight has been emerging from the Tube and seeing my first visages of London. I was absolutely floored by the claustrophobic, busy, and independent nature of the architecture and it's people.

Secondly would be related to that same trip I took to the United Kingdom, where upon landing at Heathrow, I felt euphoric to the extent that it was hard to imagine: "I finally made it." Nothing has been more striking to me that for the first time in my life, thousands of miles from 'home', I have come to not only another continent, but an island. For some reason I was very humbled by that.
