About Me

//Quick note: I use CS to meet locals/travelers and make friends, not for dating. Please refrain from sending me a hangouts request if your intentions do not match that!

Hey there, I'm Sam !

I aspire to make life a journey full of surprises and discoveries. I'm genuinely interested in people's lives and I believe that it is vital to learn from others in order to always question our world and how we gravitate around it. I'm trying to keep my mind as open as possible :)

I've got a strong drive for travel; I didn't visit a lot of countries yet, but I'm working on it!

Haven't hosted / been hosted in a while, but I still use the network to meet fellow travelers and locals wherever I go.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to discover the world and meet locals, travelers, aliens, cats... I love visiting new cities, eating new food (I love food) and spending time with people, discovering their hobbies., etc. I want to learn things from people, from their childhood stories to their dream way of life, their philosophy. Couchsurfing is definitely my favorite way to travel !

Interests

Probably one of the hardest sections to fill in for me. I grew a lot of interests in my life and I feel like I'm just getting started.
I'm a bit of a sponge, meaning that if someone talks to me with passion about one of its interests, I'll listen avidly and there's a good chance that I'll want to try it out myself.

Talking about sports, I love hiking and trekking. I've started bouldering a bunch and would like to get into alpinism but haven't had the chance yet! I also like riding my bike in the countryside and most sports that takes part in nature.

Otherwise, I like hanging out with friends, walking around in the city, nerding out at a museum or going to a proper rave til morning, catching any bit of sun in a park... It's always time for an apéro !

I also got my geeky part. I've played a lot of video games in my early years, and even if this side of me has faded, it's definitely not gone!

Music, Movies, and Books

Talking about music, I pretty much like everything. From AC/DC to Disney soundtracks. Nevertheless, I have a penchant for house and techno.

Lately I've been reading a bunch of historical fiction (Ken Follet, Bernard Cornwell, James Clavell, etc.)! Always happy to hear your recommendations and divert though!

Movies... Tough one! I'd say some of my favorite movies are Interstellar, Drive (the soundtracks!!), 1917 and Blade Runner 2049. I grew up with Marvel, LotR and Star Wars, so these movies still have a sweet spot in my heart :)

I'm more a series guy though. Some that I loved, in no particular order: True Detective, Sense8, Vikings, The End of the F**king World, Dark, Shogun, Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones... I don't watch sitcoms often but I did enjoy The Office and Community!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I flew to 2.5 meters for a few seconds thanks to a seesaw in a playground and 6 buddies. Basically space travel, right?

I will not talk about the stitches here.

On a more serious note, seeing something as 'extraordinary' is kind of subjective so you can judge for yourself once we share our stories !

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some French, unicycle, engineering simply explained, some cuisine... And probably other stuff that I didn't think about yet!

As for the learning part, I always have a lot of stuff to learn from others so I'm not really worried!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good atmosphere filled with laugh, never-ending conversations and cultural exchanges !

If you come to my place you're basically my good friend that I haven't met yet :)
