Overview
About Me
HI.
I've been in the network for some time now. I've hosted and surfed a lot and the vast majority of experiences have been fantastic.
I'm an arty fellow (recording musician, bodypaint) and understand 'wealth' as culture, self development and just being a good person, and all that.
Not as wild as I used to be: I now prefer a jazz club to a nightclub, a film (in or out), friends (old/new) with drinks suits me fine. (I can still manage a pub crawl, just a slightly shorter one) :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Helping travellers when I'm static and out in the world doing what I can to experience it when I'm not.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted in different places since Oct '10 and also surfed in many countries. Always ready to meet a fellow CSer in town to hang out and show you some places around if I have time and of course host, if I can, although it's more difficult to do that these days.
Interests
Self-development is now more a programme I have running quietly in the background rather than a widget on the screen. I have done quite a decent number of plant medicinal ceremonies in South America and will likely return to it from time to time, however the calls from other corners of the world that merit a gander have increased in volume and might even stoke dormant poetic fires.
Making music, writing, sometimes painting and bodypainting and travel; any volunteer models, travellers with random ideas for an excursion give me a shout.
If you're interested, here are links to two groups that I play/record in (it's more a hobby these days):

Music, Movies, and Books
Films: eclectic, international, usually drama.
Books: usually non-fiction (notwithstanding certain works from Orwell, Welsh and Puzzo). Jonathan Haidt, Robert Sapolsky, Gabor Mate, Matthew Walker, Andrew Doyle, John McWhorter are examples of some authors I reckon have contributed massively to contemporary treasure and the shoulders that future pioneers will stand on.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One example: lived with local Gambians in west Africa with the main objective of learning their percussive techniques and a broader objective of learning everything else that went with it.
Another: hitchhiked from Toronto to Los Angeles with a budget that meant choosing each day between food, accommodation and transport: one of the best experiences of my life.
Another - oooonly joking. We can talk about the amazing things we've done if they come up in conversation.
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH: as much as others want to learn things that I know: language (English and what I know in French and Spanish, which is pretty good) for example.
LEARN: as much as possible.
SHARE: everything...pretty much. Showing you round where I live / am staying is a given: this will include a pub(s) unless you hold the railings outside a chosen establishment and I'm not strong enough to pull you in :-D
What I Can Share with Hosts
Time (the people experience is part of the whole experience), stories, whatever's in my bag, whatever I know that you might not.
