Overview
About Me
I was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia to two British expats – 45 years later and they still haven’t lost their Geordie accents.
I have a BA in English and Media and an MA in Publishing and Communications. I’ve been working for an educational publishing house for the past two years writing, editing and proofing resources for high school students. I’ve become a little disillusioned with 9 to 5 office life, so this year I decided to call it quits and head to the states for four months in the hopes of meeting some interesting people and seeing some amazing things. I am VERY excited by the prospect of seeing a moose.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My buddy Chantelle and I are travelling around the US from August to December. We last visited in 2015 and ticked a lot of touristy things off our bucket list. This time, we're hoping for a more authentic peek into American life.
We'll be staying in hostels mostly, which is a great way to meet fellow travellers. But we're looking to do some couchsurfing as well, so we can meet locals who can point us in the direction of their city's hidden gems (or come along if they’re so inclined!)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music-wise I like a bit of everything, from Fleetwood Mac to Beyonce to Otis Redding to Arctic Monkeys.
I work in publishing so I could talk about books all day long (and often do). My preference is for contemporary fiction, but I'll read pretty much anything. The last books I read were Hunger by Roxane Gay, The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach and Adult Fantasy by Briohny Doyle.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rescued a baby bilby from drowning in a hotel pool in Queensland.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have an excellent recipe for vegan red velvet cupcakes that I'm willing to share.
