About Me
Hi! My name is Samantha! I am a full time student attending Douglas College in BC, Canada. I study Classroom and Community Support and absolutely love it. This year, in the summer of 2016, my best friend Emma and I will be travelling all around Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris and all throughout the UK. I also will be travelling throughout Uganda where I will be living for 10 weeks as I complete my international practicums. I look forward to the adventure that comes and cannot wait to connect with other travelers and couchsurfers!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Just a college student looking for a fun, innovative, and unique way of travelling and seeing the world all while meeting new people with a hope to really experience different cultures!
I think that couchsurfing will provide an even richer experience than staying in fancy hotels or hostels. Couchsurfers and hosts are locals who know the area, the history and so much more! All of which is knowledge that you wont find in a bookstore or over the internet!
I also hope to make life long friends with people from all over the world!!
Interests
Community support work is my life! It is a huge passion of mine and I love the field of disability studies. Working as a community support worker doesnt feel like a job to me, it is the most rewarding thing to watch others achieve their goals theyve worked so hard to accomplish and it gives me great joy to be the one who gets to help them do so.
Reading is a big interest of mine as well! Reading textbooks... reading history books.. reading various articles... or novels. If i ever have free time, its most likely what I am doing.
I love the outdoors! From swimming, to boating to hiking, road trips, and camping! I love it all. The spring and summer are my favourite because thats when it becomes peak season for all of the best activities.
I also have a keen interest in History! I love to know things about all the places I go and the history behind them! I think that there is such history everywhere and nobody takes the time to really appreciate it! I cannot wait to take the time and appreciate any history lessons while travelling throughout.

Music, Movies, and Books
Border Security?
.......jk....... but seriously.
As for books, well I like all sorts of books! Though I seem to judge a book by its ability to make me cry.. nonetheless I like a wide range of novels.
Music: if we can dance, then it works for me. I love all music, from Childish Gambino, to the Beatles, to Shania Twain and Dolly Parton, all music is good music. (Except heavy metal music... i dont really prefer music that makes people feel angry or music where I feel like im being yelled at)
Movies: everything. Musicals, horror movies, comedies, tear jerkers, animated, DISNEY, anything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been selected to travel with a small and selective group of college students to go to rural Uganda and volunteer within the small villages for 10 weeks with individuals living with disabilities and mental health! There, we will help in any way we can and create sustainable projects which could benefit the lives of many within their villages!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I think I'm funny?
I get really into certain topics. I love stimulating conversations.
Im so honest that I can lose my filter sometimes
My friend Emma (whom i will be travelling with) and I are pretty interesting people. Our lively personalities and differing opinions offer an abundance of conversation and stories for hosts.
We can crack open the wine, (or beer) and play some drinking games, or just relax and talk about anything.
