About Me
Hi! I'm Samantha :)
I've called California home for the past 25 years.
My passion for traveling began when I studied abroad in Seoul, Korea for about 2 months in the summer of 2015. The following summer I was in Yokosuka, Japan for 2.5 months. In 2017, I lived in Kauai, Hawaii for a few months. And most recently, I spent a few months volunteering in a hostel in Eilat, Israel.
One of my favorite things about traveling, apart from meeting new people from different cultures and backgrounds, is experiencing and learning new things about the culture and place that I am in.
I'm very adventurous when it comes to food, and I'd like to say that I'm always down for an adventure!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Although I haven't had many couchsurfing experiences, I've had a couple of wonderful ones. I think that this is the perfect opportunity to meet some lovely locals. Of course, this is if you would also like to hangout :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I LOVE listening to all genres of music, and I enjoy playing instruments (flute, piano, guitar, ukulele, drum set). I don't particularly excel at any of them, but I know enough to have a fun jam session! I'd love to jam with you if you're down!
I like all things Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli. Anyone read or watched, The Little Prince? Favorite book and movie as of now.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Floating in the Dead Sea. Hydrangea, yukata, and pikachu festivals in Japan.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an elementary school teacher, so I can give tips on classroom management or working with children :)
I'd like to learn more about something that you love to do or are passionate about.
Also, I enjoy embroidering and doing calligraphy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Positivity, a growth mindset, and a cup of coffee or tea :)
