About Me

CURRENT MISSION

World peace.

Having spent a year in Spain after graduating high school I now live in Montreal, after which time I expect to join the ranks of the unemployed masses - I am a political science student who works as a "chef" in a restaurant which makes the best burgers in town (Bun's). I enjoy every sport I've tried so far and enjoy nature-related activities. I started snowboarding in the winter, which is now one of my favourite activities...the sound of silence which engulfs you as you glide over the snow is amazing. I will start learning the guitar soon and am attempting to collect footage to make my own semi-fictional documentary film. I like film a lot! I enjoy music, sport, film and documentaries, cooking and generally being involved with people who are eager to share their passion with the world. Recently I have gained insight into the world of contemporary dance (thanks to my dancer room mate) and stand-up comedy.

My current and future learning will hopefully lead me to establish a political movement, write a screenplay, open a restaurant, produce some music all of which require me to travel widely and establish as many meaningful relationships as possible. I like to talk about controversial topics but think it is important not to get offended by other points of view, no matter how radical.

PHILOSOPHY

What i'm struggling with: http://www.buzzfeed.com/expresident/british-people-problems

Don't be yourself - be someone a little nicer.
If you step on people in this life, you're going to come back as a cockroach.
The fruits of the earth belong to us all.
Si no existe el más allá, la injusticia del pobre se prolonga eternamente.
Your ignorance is more scandalous than my...
The past is a foreign land.
Your privilege is comprised of the questions you’ve never had to ask.

"As if that blind rage had washed me clean, rid me of hope; for the first time, in that night alive with signs and stars, I opened myself to the gentle indifference of the world. Finding it so much like myself—so like a brother, really—I felt that I had been happy and that I was happy again. For everything to be consummated, for me to feel less alone, I had only to wish that there be a large crowd of spectators the day of my execution and that they greet me with cries of hatred"

I enjoy seeing how different people live and seeing random things i didn't expect, open conversations with strangers. Any enriching experience

Music, Movies & Books

I'm reading 'A Brave New World' at the moment, re-watched 'Waltz With Bashir' one of my favourite films, the Sidney Lumet adaptation of 'Equus' stuck in my head, Relatos Salvajes was also very well made. Dr. Strangelove, Dog Day Afternoon, American Psycho, The Great Dictator, Natural Born Killers are some of my all time greats. I was also recently disturbed by Enter the Void and Waking Life. The music from I went to see a concert John Hopkins concert at new years's which was also very memorable, will go to see Recondite soon, another favourite. Vivaldi remastered by Max Richter is also repeatedly played at my house recently... As is his Waltz With Bashir soundtrack
