I am an easygoing and curious person looking to get out and explore the world a little bit more. In the past I've found that I prefer the deep dive of living in a place for a few months to the shorter experiences of passing through while traveling, but I am looking to branch out more!

I am an avid lover of outdoor sports. I ski, mountain bike, whitewater kayak, canoe, hike, and wander through the woods. That being said I also enjoy spending time in cities; exploring museums, historical sites, music, and food. I'm a big fan of beer, tea, card games, and other social activities!

I'm really excited about the idea of seeing a place through the eyes of someone who actually lives there. I would say that I am far more interested in someone's experiences of living and working in a place than I am in seeing the most popular sights around town.

Couchsurfing gives me a chance to interact with folks who can provide a different perspective.

I've also found that many of my friendships form around the sports that I love. This can make for deep friendships but also can create a bit of a bubble as we'll wind up just talking about skiing/biking etc. I'm excited to get outside of those bubbles a bit more!

Music: everything from bluegrass and Celtic through to indie and some electronic music. Currently I'm listening to Big Wild, the East Pointers, the Ghost of Paul Revere and whatever they play on the radio.

Movies: not a huge movie person but I like anything with some comedic value to it!

Books: I'll read them all! Recently have been reading some Murakami novels as well as a good dose of non-fiction about everything from criminal justice reform to Arctic exploration.
