About Me

Hey there- the name's Sam.

U.S. native with Latin American tendencies, currently living and working in Amsterdam, NL.

I have a true passion for acoustic music/ songwriting and perform all over the city of Amsterdam. Until that dream takes off, I keep myself busy working at a tech media publication in the city centre called 'The Next Web,' where I manage our partnerships and help organize events. I am also a recent blockchain enthusiast and at the moment really interested in how it will affect the music industry in the future.

I strive to be the best version of me by working diligently on my projects, always being kind to those around me, and keeping an open mind- life is too short not to. I am fascinated by the many unique people that I've crossed paths with who keep changing my life for the better.

Although originally from the U.S, I used to live in Buenos Aires, Ar and in Guayaquil, Ec. I do speak Spanish fluently and still carry many cultural aspects in my heart from those experiences while being back in the northern hemisphere. :) I also have been very much in touch with my spiritual side lately, attending meditation classes on a weekly basis and currently reading about harnessing your body energy and chakras. Feel free to reach out in Dutch as I am working on it, but still prefer either English/Spanish for now.

If you'd like a little taste of my music (have a new EP coming Nov. 2018), you can follow along here:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The best way to learn more about another city, culture, or country is to do it like a local. I am not on Couchsurfing because I'm too cheap to pay for a place to stay- I am here because I would genuinely like to get to know my host, enough to really enjoy each other's company or even hang out during my stay.

At the moment I live with two roommates in Amsterdam who are both wonderful individuals, but a bit picky with who stays over. Of course friends are always welcome to stay, but for someone who is not so well known (yet), it would be different, so for now I am not hosting on Couchsurfing, but would also love to be able to host people in the future.
