ABOUT ME

i'm a fashion designer. i enjoy all things cultural and creative. my feet have been traipsing through as many art galleries and museums as my expired student card will get me into at a discount.　my baby face helps with that. i live for food. i love to cook. i think i'd eat just about anything and i'm always happy at a farmers market. i'm highly motivated and yet totally lazy, and somehow manage the fine balance between doing a lot AND sleeping a lot...i'm independently minded, but most of the time i like people, and i am almost always of a sunny disposition. the glass is half full thank you very much.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

a couple friends i met at the beginning of my solo travels around europe recommended i join couch surfing. i thought it sounded creepy. i was a total sceptic and non-believer. but an exhausting and unsatisfying run of hostel stays made me reconsider...gave it a whirl and now i'm the happiest convert on the block. couch surfing has completely transformed the way i travel and has rose tinted my world. i love it and will continue to participate when i get back home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

have spent the better part of the last 3 months surfing across europe. the generosity and general awesomeness of the people i have met and stayed with continues to blow me away.

-design (fashion, architecture, graphic...what-have-you)
-art (open to it all, happiest in modern and contemporary galleries, ambivalent feelings towards performance art)
-food! (cooking makes me happy. when i travel i miss my kitchen. and i have adventurous tastebuds...recent memorable snacks: snail soup in marrakech, pickled herring and vodka in warsaw...today i sucked the heads out of some juicy langoustines in valencia.)
-pop culture junky...do you dare challenge me to a round of the movie game?
-special moments in secret places (i like to get lost, i like to wander down the back alleys and i like the surprises a city has to offer more than the main attractions)

-learning to snowboard at whistler mountain in the canadian rockies this year was pretty great.

-christmas day. sunrise. camel ride through the sahara near merzouga. amazing.
