About Me

Young Dutch wannabe globetrotter, currently "finishing" up Western Europe; looking for locations that nobody really sees.
I love architecture, both modern and old; castles and old fortifications are a personal weakness of mine.

Weather or not, roads or not, I'll be going there; adventure on two wheels. I tend to turn my GPS off, that way I run into the best experiences (or get stuck ha, we don't talk about that part).
I like to camp wild/bivouac mostly, maybe I can host you in my tent if I'm out somewhere ha.

Just finished a "small" round trip of western Europe.
Somewhere between July and September I'm looking to hit the North Cape in Norway.
After that I have my sights set for Dakar, Senegal.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for hosts that can show me their area from their perspective, show me the things that you think make your location amazing.
Besides exploring the area I also love conversation, swapping travel advice and much more. Most of my travel itinerary is pretty loose, I tend to travel without concrete plans.

Interests

I ride motorcycle, generally I tend to do so alone and see it as "me time". Being out in the environment and being able to ride both on and off-road is what gives me the sense of freedom.
With said motorcycling comes camping, just ride into a random forest, pitch a tent or tarp and call it a day.

As for sports I skate (longboard) my main discipline is "dancing" but I also dabble in freeride. As someone living inlands in a flat country skating is a fun way to get around as well.

My other interests lie with theatre and music, I work as a lighting technician which gives me a good mix of technical stuff, social interactions with guests from all over the place and the ability to use my creativity.

As for music I like to make music on my computer, it's a simple yet fun way to unwind.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
My music taste is pretty much all over the place, I can go from Einaudi straight back to Techno.
Drum & Bass is what I'd call my "main" genre but that's a loose definition.

Movies:
The list is pretty massive here, although Lord of the Rings definitely has a special place for me.

Books:
I'm not much of a fictional book reader, but I definitely would "read" an encyclopedia.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love wrenching around, am pretty good with electronics and computers I guess.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd like to call myself a pretty good cook and definitely would be willing to cook for/with my host(s). Dinner is an important moment to share and relax, good food and good stories are a perfect match.

If you're a motorcyclist/roadtrip type of person or are planning to do something among those lines I'm also willing to help you plan and set-up. If you've already figured that part out I can also give you some pointers for places to go :).
