To escape the frantic pace of modern society.
I'm a laid-back guy, a young physician but surfer at heart. A couple of years ago, I embarked on a journey to become a polyglot. Six languages later, I'm just as excited as during my first conversation in French. More concretely, I'm a physician and graduate student doing an MBA/MPH and research in plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins University.
I enjoy having an meaningful conversation over a glass of wine. I'm a very active person who likes to stay fit. What else... An open-minded person, a true free spirit. Loves to travel. Is ready after a swim in the ocean, not after spending hours on hair/primping. Has a genuine interest in different cultures, people, and languages. Is well-rounded but not arrogant or pretentious. Is sophisticated, yet not condescending or superficial.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Curretly as a host. In places where the CS community is more active and organized, I love to partake in all kinds of events and meet-ups. Never a dull moment with fellow CSers!
I was first introduced to CouchSurfing through friends in New York City. After attending a few events, I was delighted to discover a community that shares my view of the world and my passion for traveling. Consequently, I opened an account and have hosted extensively, surfed, and traveled with fellow CSers. Every experience has been positive and I have learned from each of them. I hope to continue to benefit from this opportunity to learn and share in respect and tolerance.
Outside of medicine, I maintain a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise, a balanced diet, and a "dose of ritualism" by adhering to my beliefs. I enjoy hikes in nature, climbing, running, surfing and swimming, and I make an effort to lift weights on a consistent basis. I also have a genuine interest in traveling and discovering different cultures. At the same time, I believe it's important to stay grounded and loyal to family.

Music, Movies, and Books
My interests include independent movies, creative writing, world music and making music myself (I play the guitar).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Upclose view of manta rays while snorkeling on Isla de la Plata
- First summit in the Andes at 5,200 meters in the Illinizas
- Walking through the red-stoned Jesuit Reductions in Misiones, Argentina. Taken back centuries in the astonishingly well-preserved humid, red scenery.
